Born in Cleveland, OH, Half-Centric got his taste for music early in life from his grandfather playing jazz vinyls from the likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, and others from the Bebop era of jazz music.
At the age of ten, he and his mom uprooted from northern Ohio and went across the country to establish roots in Las Vegas, where his production journey started. It didn’t take long for him to start catching fire; having posted many contest entries on the once-famed hip-hop blog KevinNottingham.com, Half-Centric’s unique, but soulful style of production began to catch the ears of emcees in the underground in 2009. Having produced songs for the likes of Iceberg Theory (FKA Cyclops), The Cause, Noble (FKA Knowledge), Amor Jones, Jerzee Deep, Fatboi Sharif, Pryme Prolifik, and legendary Jersey emcee Shaun Lov; Half-Centric took a hiatus to raise his newborn daughter in 2014.
Fast forward to 2019, after having several placements fall through, Half-Centric went back to his roots and started rapping again, which ended up flourishing into his electric debut LP “Fall From Eden” that has been making its rounds on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
Half-Centric’s style of production continues to excite; blending soul samples, live instrumentation, and lively synths to genre bend hip-hop like it’s never been done before. His crafty wordplay and relatable subject matter have seen a firm foundation be built with more exciting things to come.
